Yoga

Ricki’s evolution into yoga began at the age of thirteen when she discovered the magic of a spinal twist. From that moment on, being grounded and flexible became part of her passion for health and wellbeing. Over the past fifteen years, she has studied a variety of yoga traditions and for the last five years has focused primarily on discovering the best ways to facilitate and accomplish the simple, yet powerful Asana (yoga positions).

Deeply connected and aware of the potential of yoga to heal and return the body, mind, and spirit to wellbeing, as a teacher Ricki has a strong instinct for alignment and is particularly skilled at helping her students discover where dissymmetry might hamper learning a pose correctly.  “I look at the feet a lot” says Ricki. “I have had problems with pronation and tibial tendon collapse. I have had to learn to walk properly, which is a long journey that is still going on.” To that end, along with her yoga classes, Ricki designs workshops geared specifically to proper foot placement.

To support her practice and her work as a yoga teacher, Ricki has studied with Dharma Mittra and has completed both 200-hour and 500-hour teacher training programs with a particular focus on inversions and headstands. Ricki uses restorative yoga postures to invite the body and the mind to release tensions as she assists and supports you in cultivating calm, balance, and renewed energy in your life.

She has learned psychic development, pranayama breathing techniques, and meditation along with chakra balancing in her studies with Sri Dharma Mittra, her beloved teacher.

Continually expanding her knowledge, Ricki is currently studying with her teacher Yogi Charu, and has received her meditation level 1-3 , yoga Nidra, and 200 and 300 hour training certificate. She humbly offers the learning she has received.

Ricki works with her students to make gentle and kind adjustments. Her unique approach and skill as a teacher supports her students as they learn to open their body, mind and spirit. .
